Dead Man Walking

UNL Opera's 2008 production of Jake Heggie's opera Dead Man Walking won the National Opera Association BEST PRODUCTION Award. Based on the story by Sister Helen Prejean, the opera tells the story of Prejean's efforts to help convicted murderer Joseph DeRocher admit his guilt and apologize to the victims' families before his execution.
